The answer is yes, Mexico is a country that has great variety of food that represent all the cultures that reside on each of its states and cities, making Mexico a place that is full of many flavors.
There are many thing you could try to cook on your own from home, like making a sweet horchata water, making some meat flautas or to try some guacamole with chips. Our first stop of the day will be the amazing guacamole, or the green gold as the mexican people refer to it.
Guacamole was invented in the 14th and 16th century by the Aztecs from crushing avocado and they used to add tomato salt green chiles and with a warm tortilla
While Mexican style horchata is the most famous variety it was created in Spain and have various types but horchata was born in the region of Valencia in Southern Spain.
It is believed that flautas were created by indigenous people from mexico, which used corn tortillas as a wrap and put many fillings inside of it and the word fluata refers to flute referencing it's long shape.
Mexican cuisine is rich and diverse, featuring a variety of traditional and popular dishes. Some of the most iconic Mexican foods include:
- Tacos: These are hand-sized food items made with a folded or rolled corn or flour tortilla filled with seasoned meat, vegetables, and other ingredients. Tacos can include beef, chicken, pork, fish, shellfish, or vegetarian fillings like refried beans and cheese.
- Enchiladas: These are tortillas dipped in sauce, filled with pork or chicken, and then baked or broiled. They are a staple in Mexican cuisine.
- Tamales: Made from cornmeal dough, tamales are filled with meats, cheeses, or vegetables and steamed in corn husks.
- Mole: A defining sauce of central and southern Mexico, mole is made from dried chilies and other ingredients. It is often served with chicken, pork, turkey, or beef.
- Quesadillas: Tortillas folded over a filling of meat, beans, cheese, or vegetables, then cooked until the cheese melts.
- Pozole: A traditional soup made from hominy and pork, often seasoned with chili peppers and garnished with cabbage, radishes, and lime.
- Churros: These are flour-based fritters fried and rolled in cinnamon sugar, often enjoyed with chocolate sauce.
